So it’s not just me.” Calum sat on the floor in front of Luke. “You know, you’re the reason I hide up here,” Luke muttered, reaching for the pen. Luke hated people referring to him as “Your Highness” or “your majesty.” Which is exactly why Calum did it. “Calum you insensitive bastard.”Ĭalum chuckled and wandered in. Luke jumped and the pen flew out of his hand. “I thought you’d be here.” A voice came from the treehouse opening. I wish to watch the sunrise with my love,īut I fear I won’t get that because of someone from above,īut this life is everything that leaves me dark and blue. Than to be thrust into the arms of yet another girl.īut so far, every encounter leaves me hollow. He set the pen against the parchment and started to write again.Īll they care about is the palace that has a sensual gleam and glisten. He tore the page out and crumpled it, throwing it aside. I’d rather be stuck living with a gnome ,Īnd a dog that has fur that is oh so very fluffy. He settled himself down on the plethora of blankets and opened his notebook. He breathed in the atmosphere and wandered over to the bundle of blankets he’d acquired over the years. He climbed up the rope ladder and into the place that felt more like home than the palace did. It was hidden in the trees behind the palace and only certain people knew about his hideaway. The old treehouse his father had built for him and his brothers when they were young. He made his way to his favorite place on the premises. Luke sighed and grabbed his notebook and headed out the door. He wasn’t exactly the poster child for purity and perfection. He remembered Calum finding him in the toolshed with a maid and grimaced a little. He felt confident in greens, reds, and blues. He settled the dark green material over his broad shoulders and instantly felt better. Satin just made him feel like a marble statue. He pulled off the heinous shirt and sighed, putting on his everyday clothes. So many of them only wanted his kingdom or his money. There were only so many of them he could handle.

Princesses and duchesses were thrust upon him at all hours of the day. Instead, he was attending balls and reading Shakespeare. She wanted him to be the perfect vision of what a prince should be. It wasn’t the first time he’d gotten Jerry upset. “You are incorrigible!” Jerry threw his hands up and stormed out of the room, leaving Luke to fluff about with the ruffles. I’m disappointed.” Luke said, pulling at the white fabric. “No, what I look like is a romance novel with extra ruffles. You should be grateful.” Jerry sniffed, crossing his arms. “I look like the layers of a lasagna.” He mumbled, gaining a glare from Jerry. His so-called “fashion consultant”, Jerry, had shoved him into a lot of white ruffles.
